Barcelona - Dakar 2017

The time has come to inform you that our Barcelona - Dakar project is leaving this Sunday, July 23rd.

Ready for Adventure?

We will leave from Barcelona to Sub-Saharan Africa, we will be updating all the details by this means.

ESSENTIAL VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

- Yellow Fever It is administered on the same day as the consultation.

- Typhoid Fever It is administered on the same day as the consultation.

- Rabies: There are 3 doses, recommended for bikers since there is a risk of biting a dog.

These are the vaccines that were demanded from us at the Hospital del Mar - Barcelona. Here we were offered a pack of 3 for € 63.

DAY 9 SAINT LOUIS (Senegal) - LAKE ROSA (SENEGAL) 240 Km.

A journey that seems short, we have taken 4 hours of circulatory chaos. We have met cars, trucks, people everywhere, pollution. A disaster! On the road you can buy everything, there are vendors everywhere, until you reach Lake Rosa, which is a true Oasis, there is no town with only 3 well-equipped hotels, where you can rest and enjoy the landscapes.

Here some photos and inform you that we have reached the end of our tour, now we have to climb. As for the heat, I think we have become accustomed to going roasted all day with a T that is around 40 degrees.

DAY 8 NUAKCHOT (Mauritania) - SAINT LOUIS (Senegal) 330 Km.

Stage of African airs with quite a few tracks, one of them Diama with about 100km of track, you also find the section of Nouakchott to Rosso, which there are many pieces of unpaved track.
Crossing the border without much trouble, the African landscape begins with a variety of animals. We arrived in Saint Louis a pleasant city, you eat very well! For fish and seafood lovers. So enjoy! More tomorrow…

DAY 7 Bir Gandouz (El Barbas) - Nouakchott 540 Km.

Stage to enjoy, spectacular views, birds, camels, wild boars. With a T of 44 degrees, we had a long wait at the border, as planned. Everything works very slowly, without hurry! Despite having a Telematic visa. They are not so lost in technology, but they also take their great time.

After crossing the border of Morocco, you cross the land of no one who is an old minefield. To continue the road to Nouakchott. With sand, sand and more sand.

RECOMMENDATIONS: A lot of liquid (WATER) and eye, THERE ARE NO GAS STATIONS.

Lodging: HOTEL ATLANTIC

This is a little of the experience, tomorrow more!

DAY 6 EL AAIUN - Bir Gandouz (El Barbas) 750 km

We cross the Saharawi area, with a mandatory stop at the TROPICO DE CANCER. A desert journey in which there is nothing, just sand, with a rise and fall of T until reaching 44 degrees. In some areas we travel along the Atlantic coast which refreshes the trip quite a bit. When you arrive at Barbas you find an Oasis in the middle of nowhere.

Remember that it is the last point to put gas and fill a tank that you have in reserve. *IMPORTANT*

DAY 5 AGADIR - EL AAIUN

A stretch to enjoy landscapes, with many military controls which slows the trip. As for the Temperature has been quite variable, it dropped 18º and suddenly 38º. But it is worth it… A stretch that is enjoyed.

Tomorrow more and better!

DAY 4 MARRAKECH - AGADIR (259 Km.)

We start the day by taking a walk through the Plaza de Yamaa el Fna. Pretty hot 43 degrees. The T is also part of the #AVENTURA. We took road direction #AGADIR a short stretch to catch energy and tomorrow to butt.

So ... See you tomorrow!

DAY 3 ALGECIRAS - RATE - MARRAKECH

Join us in our #AVENTURA - #BARCELONA - #DAKAR

In this section we have taken the Ferry Tarifa to Tangier (1 hour), the customs procedure very simple and fast.

We have reached Tanger, and the T begins to rise. The African airs are already felt. We're leaving destination Marrakech.

Until Casablanca the section went to a Pleasant Temperature, to pass this point the Thermometers rose and quite, 43-45 degrees until arriving at Marrakech. Rest a little and walk to the Plaza de Yamaa el Fna.

Marrakech is a city that I have visited several times, it has its charm. It is quite an adventure to drive since no sign is respected, they all go to theirs. Although it is normal in these countries to drive this way. It takes a bit of getting used to, but you end up just like them, but you stay lying.

Nice visit!

More tomorrow!!!

DAY 2 MURCIA - ALGECIRAS 530 KM.

strategic stop to change the rear tire. For a TKC70, I have tried them and I like them a lot, so we repeat.

We have arrived in Gibraltar and towards a little hot 42 degrees, normal at this time.

For tomorrow very early, ferry and to touch African land.

We continue tomorrow!
